What is vitamin C for?
Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin used broadly — in collagen synthesis, as an antioxidant, and to help absorb (non-heme) iron. Because it isn't stored well, regular intake is the norm. Many people get plenty from vegetables and fruit, so supplements are a top-up; taken with iron, it helps absorb the plant form.
